Trading Posts offer goods, which are not available in their culture. (e.g. Raisins?) They are very small settlements at the edge of the Viking civilizations (one or two houses and a boat), who also serve as landing posts for visitors from other sims. Goods can be paid via Vivo Money (or KC)??
